Crafters Companion 7x7 stencils release

Hi there Crafty Friends, today I am sharing a look at some cards I recently made for the launch of the Pigment Ink Background Stencils from Crafters Companion.

As you know stencils are so versatile and I love to use them in many ways but the brief for this product launch was to use them with pigment inks.

Using the Rosebud Floral Stencil along with Spectrum Noir Harmony pigment inks, I applied in pastel colours with a foam dauber, when I removed the stencil I sprinkled some clear embossing powder over the  surface and heat set with my heat tool. I love the delicate raised areas.

Next I used the Love Hearts stencil, I worked with three inks colours to create an ombre effect,  I love ombre and paried together with the Love Hearts I think it works so well.

The Abstract Swirls stencil is certainly one of my favourites from the release. I picked three colours of ink to blend and allowed the to overlap i place to create new shades and tones. It has such a dreamy feel to me.

The Cute Florals stencil has a retro feel to me , so I had to go all out with the colours. I blended the colours and with the stencil still in place I added a layer of clear texture gel. I love how this makes the colours even more vibrant. You can see the difference in the background which has the clear paste vs the sentiment panel which is just ink.

The Beautiful Butterflies stencil looks so delicate, but don't be fooled it is very robust due to its clever design. I added glitter paste through the stencil and once dried added ink blended over the top. I love how the butterflies resist the ink and stand out.

The Scattered Foilage stencil screams elegance, so I deiced to add some peachy gold tones. I blended some jade and topaz inks through the stencil, while the ink was still wet I lightly sprinkled some golden peach embossing powder in a few places and heat set. It glimmers under the light and adds enough detail without overpowering the card.

Who doesn't love Polka Dots? Here I used a fun blackout technique. I started with white card and ink blended pigment inks through the stencil, I then added clear embossing powder and heat set. Now that the Polka Dots were protected with the clear embossing I could add a layer of black ink over the top. The black ink only takes were there is exposed card/no heat embossing. I love this fun modern look.

Last up was the Elegant Trellis, using the colours of the rainbow I ink blended onto some white card, I then carefully placed the stencil over the top and added a layer of white pigment ink, I then sprinkle clear embossing powder and heat set. This is such a fun look.

That's all for today, I hope you'll dig out our stencils or maybe even treat yourself to some new ones and have a play.

Crafters Companion Christmas Design team projects

Hey crafty friends,It's been a busy few months with new releases from Crafters Companion and Spectrum Noir so i'm here to share a few pictures of projects that I've created recently.

Have you seen the Christmas Wobblers? These are adorable little Christmas character stamps that come with a mechanism die that allow you to create a spingy little character to adorn your projects.  There are 7 characters to choose from.

The Christmas Front and Back Character gift tags are such a fun way to add tags to your festive gifts, there are 9 different characters in the collection, each has a front and back stamp, sentiment stamps and a die, the die doesn't cut the bottom of the tag so you can choose how big you'd like it to be.

The festive gift card holders are so cool, I worked with the Jolly Santa and Festive Snowman, there is also a gift and stocking version too. if you pull on their hats it revels a hidden element where you can attach a gift card, such a great way to give a gift to younger children.

I adore these Snowmen stamps, there are 4 different stamps in the collection, here I'm sharing a project using the Warm Holiday Hugs stamp set. How cute are they? Images were coloured with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers.

Well there we go, I have loads more to share with you soon, so please subscribe to stay up to date with all of my crafting projects.

Have a great week ahead, Terri.

Crafters Companion Everyday Balanced Create A Card Dies

Hey there, today I am sharing a look the new Everyday Balanced Create A Card dies from Crafters Companion.  There are six sets in the collection (I'm sharing cards made with four of them) Each die set has four dies, the main Create A Card Die, a floating element and two sentiment dies. The sentiments can be mixed and matched across the collection to give you even more options.

Here I used the Shine Bright set along with Spectrum Noir's Glitter Markers. The moon element is actually attached using 3D glue gel but against the black backdrop it appears to be floating.

Next up is the Raise Your Glasses set, it's great for any celebration. I added colour using Spectrum Noir Classic Markers. I added a piece of Acetate behind the die cut die front panel and added the glasses using one of Crafters Companions dotty tape pens.

The Save The Date set is stunning and I just had to cut if from white and layer a copper glitter behind. How beautiful is this card.

My final card uses the Love Birds set. It's just adorable, I used the main die to stencil colour on to my card with Spectrum Noir Harmony Water Reactive Inks. I added the little birds with some twine so it hangs freely in the centre of the aperture.

Tie Dye effect with Spectrum Noir AquaTint Inks

Hey there, thank you for stopping by today. I wanted to share a couple of cards that I created using Spectrum Noir's AquaTint Ink pots.

Both of the cards were created using the same technique to create a faux Tie Dye effect. I started by laying out a length of string on to my glass mat, I then used a pipette to add drops of my chosen colours along the length of the string. Each colour was around 2" apart from the next, this allowed the colour to wick along the string.

I then laid the string on to wet watercolour card in a spiral effect and allowed the colour to bleed out.

SN Aquatint inks, blue topaz, macaroon, amethyst, rose quartz, moonlight and emerald green.
Sentiment -Crafty Roo Designs

For the second example I didn't wet the card as much, this created a more concentrated design.

I wonder if you'll try this technique, if you do I'd love to see what you create.

Have a Beary cozy day

Hi There, today I am sharing a card created with Lawn Fawn's Den Sweet Den.

The images were coloured using Spectrum Noir's Illustrator Markers in the following colours CT1,2,3 DR1,2,3 AG1,2,3 TB2,3,4 MB1,2,3 RB1,2,3,4.

I used the scalloped rectangle dies and a piece of paper from the Into the Woods Remix 6x6 paper pad. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto a black strip, this created the perfect place to sit the images.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, have a fabulous day.

Pineapples 3 ways with Spectrum Noir

Hey there, today I am sharing 3 cards using the CCC Big and Bold Aloha Pineapple stamp. I will be sharing 3 ways in which to colour them using 3 different mediums from Spectrum Noir.
For my first example I used Spectrum Noir Aquatint ink pots. I used Sea Green, Evergreen, Alpine Green, Fawn, Topaz and Yellow. I really like how vivid the colours look and the graphic style of the design.

For the second example I have used Spectrum Noir Illustrators, the colours I used are BG2, LG3, TN5, EB2, GY3, CT3, AG1, GY2, BT5, JG3. This has a slightly softer look, mainly due to my colour choices but I am happy with how it looks.

My final example uses the Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils, I used the following colours; Clementine, Duck egg, Citrus, Grass, Shamrock, Peacock Green, Paprika, Walnut, Earth, Stone. I used an alcohol blender marker to lightly blend some areas, this is the most muted/softer look of the three.

I hope you have enjoyed today's post and that you may try some different mediums to colour your craft projects, have a great day.
