Here's what I created for the Challenge

I created my card using the Pop dots stamp set stamped onto a distress ink background, I then added a sentiment using the Birthday wishes stamp set and added confetti curls.

I hope you create something super

Fun with some of my favorite things

It's Hump day and today I couldn't decide what I wanted to play with so decided to grab some of my favorite crafty items and go with the flow.

So I used a ;
versfine ink pad
Lindys Samp gang Magicals
Paperbabe Stamps Birthday set
Sheena Douglas Flying Dragonfly stamp set
Sparkle foil tape

Here is my creation, a cute 6x6 greeting card.

The card was a simple projects, I used the Lindys Stamp Gang Magicals to create a background splatter effect background, added some of the sparkle foil tape

I then used the sentiment stamps to add a greeting

I stamped a dragonfly in Versafine ink and painted it with the Magicals

As the Magicals dry they become more vibrant and the shimmer comes alive.

I am going to play some more with the Magicals and see what other things you can do with them and as always I'll share my results here.

Playing with Altenew stamps and Inks from my stash

So today I picked up a copy of "Simply cards and Papercraft" magazine as it had a freebie of Atenew goodies on the front cover.

I have been wanting to get my hands on Altenew stamps for a while but you know how it is when money is tight you have to make choices and my longing had to wait.  In the pack there are 9 stamps and 2 cutting dies.

I couldn't wait to get them home and start stamping, although my fun was delayed as I had to take my daughter to the Dr to get her dodgy knees checked.............

Altenew make and sell their own Crisp Dye Inks but as you guessed I don't have any of these yet so I had a play with the ones I own, mainly distress and Memento dew drop inks.

My experiment

I started with the Memento Inks, I stamped each layer of the stamps in the same colour in the hope it would build up depth and show the pattern of the stamps. Here is my results

Angel Pink

New Sprout

Cantaloupe

Paris Dusk

Next I tried the same technique with a distress ink pad, my results as my kids would say was an "Epic Fail"

Antique Linen

Then I thought how about using multiple shades of distress ink, here is how that worked out;

Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso

It gives an almost pop art effect, I think there may be times where this effect could be handy but not for what I want at the moment.

The verdict; I will be buying some Altenew ink when they are in stock and I have some money.

Craftwork Cards Fabulous Fashionista

It's Monday and after a busy few days I have had the chance to sit and create for my own pleasure.

I took Craftwork cards newest release, some basic supplies; Sequins, washi tape, twine, distress ink and a few black pearls and this is what I created in a couple of hours.

This first card is a little 5"x 5" everything apart from the twine came in the kit.

This I think is my favorite card a strip of paper which was an off cut from another cards, some sequins, washi tape and a topper, quick, easy and chic.

This card was a little more involved, the lady on the front was part of a 8" x 8" paper, I rough cut it, glued it on to some card and then fussy cut. I added some of the stripe paper to the card blank and cut a circle aperture, I then glued the circle back inside the card. Next I added the Lady to the front and placed a couple of sentiments. I added the pink Candi around the aperture for a hit of colour.

For this card I used one of the Perfume bottle toppers, I added some colour by water colouring with a distress ink pad. For the background I used distress ink again and added some little bubble/circles here and there. I stamped "Birthday Wishes" in Versafine ink, added a piece of the striped paper and edged the background by running a fine tip black pen around and adding a few crosses to look like stitches.

This card combined a bit of mat and layering with some dies cutting, everything come from the kit

I water coloured one of the shoe stoppers with Distress ink, used a couple of off cuts of paper, 3 candi and a sentiment which I pinked the edges of.

This was the first card I made with the kit, I think the foiling and artwork are so pretty that I didn't want to overpower them by doing to much. I love the pink and gold together.

This card combines washi tape, black pearls and papers from the kit. Simple but elegant.

I think this kit may be my all time favorite by Craftwork Cards. Tx

My stand at the Craft4Crafters Exhibition

Hi there, today has been a busy day but a really super one. After dropping the girls to school I headed to the Bath and West showground to set up my stand ready for 3 days of crafting fun, and maybe a little shopping too.

Just before all the traders started setting up I caught a picture from my stand over looking the hall

Not long after there were traders, boxes and lots of crafting goodies starting to arrive, it was hard to stay focused and not go and rummage through boxes but I had to get my stand looking good.

Here are a few of my display items, all of which I have made

Here's how it's looking so far. I still have a few items to take along to put out tomorrow and some table cloths to add to my workshop area.

I will try to get out and about from behind my stall and see some of the wonderful items available to buy and display pieces.  I will post more photos soon.

My diverse Craft journey

This last year has been a very busy year for me and my crafting. I took the plunge and started this blog and my social media pages and among all the crafty chaos I thought I would sit back and look at the different styles of craft I have worked with and reflect.

First up is my Mixed media journal cover.  This was my first mixed media piece and I wanted it to have a grungy steampunk feel. I used MDF, mica powders, glossy accents and texture paste.  I had so much fun creating it, using stencils and heat embossing, it was as if I took all of my favorite skills and threw then together.

My spread your wings piece was born out of my long love of butterflies and new found love of sequins.  I found some really shiny lilac sequins and wanted to team them with a MDF butterfly I had. I used metallic ink sprays to highlight some die cut mini butterflies and used stencil in the back ground.  I added some stamped words on distressed pieces of card to highlight the  picture.

My journey in craft started with card making and this is one of my favorite cards this year. I love the colours, the plant sticks and the natural feel to the card.

The last year has shown me that I can create different styles of arts and crafts and experiment with colour and texture.

I am so excited to be heading to the Craft4Crafters exhibition this week where I will be running workshops over 3 days for 90 people.

I hope you will continue to join me as I create.

This rose wreath took about 2 hours to make

The cone wreath took about an hour

My little tea light jars are so cute, I used the new Vintage paper pad from Craftwork Cards

This bookfold is a Debbi Moore design, I am debating on decorating with flowers and a ribbon
