Paper Paper everywhere

Things are a little hectic here at the moment as I prepare for my first BIG craft show, there is litterally paper and products everywhere and to top it off it's my daughters birthday on Saturday and I still have a cake to make............

I thought I'd share a few pictures of some of the things I have made so far, while I sit down for 5 and put my feet up.

This rose wreath took about 2 hours to make

The cone wreath took about an hour

My little tea light jars are so cute, I used the new Vintage paper pad from Craftwork Cards

This bookfold is a Debbi Moore design, I am debating on decorating with flowers and a ribbon

Lastly for now another wreath made from rolled book pages

I did say there was paper everywhere.

I best get back to it and maybe feeding the kids would be a good idea too, I'll be back on later this week with 2 Design team projects

Hedgehog bookfold - Tutorial 5

Bookfolded hedgehog

Equipment

Paperback book of at least 150 numbered pages

googly eyes

button

ribbon

flower/bow

glue

scissors

The first step is to remove the cover of your book, both front and back

Next take the top right corner and fold it diagonally to the spine of the book as shown below

Make sure your fold is crisp, you can use a bone folder or just a finger

Next fold the rest of the page in towards the spine, again making sure it's crisp...it's a bit like making a paper aeroplane

Now repeat at least 74 more times, you will see your hedgehog start to take shape

Once you've completed the folding check to see if it looks full enough, if not fold a few more pages. If you have spare pages left they will need to be removed, I did this using a craft knife.

Now you are free to decorate yours in any style that suits you.

Bookfolded birdcage, tutorial number 1

Book fold Birdcage with CWC flowers.

Equipment required;

A paper back book, approx 450 numbered pages

Glue gun and glue sticks

Craftwork Cards flowers

Ribbon

Mini clamps

Method

1 Remove the front and back cover of your book, I also remove any blank pages from the front and back as I like pages with words as it give my preferred look.

Fold the top right corner of the pages towards the spine at a 45 degree angle

Now fold the right hand edge of the page towards the spine as shown below;

Keep the folds as crisp as possible as it makes for a cleaner look, you can use a bone folder but a finger works just as good

This is what the first fold should look like

All pages are now folded in the same way throughout the book.

Tip!

The pages will start to fluff up and get in the way a bit, I find using mini clamps helps keep them out of the way a bit

When you have folded all the pages this is what you are left with.

You may find that there is a step in the folded pages and the end sticks out more than the beginning, don’t worry this will be covered and with practice you will rectify this as you folds become more precise.

Now cut a piece of ribbon approx 5inch long to use as a decorative hanging loop, I fold it in half and then twist the ends together;

Open the book where the end and beginning meet and apply some glue using the glue gun, now place the piece of hanging ribbon on the hot glue, be careful not to burn yourself.
