Stamping fun

Yay, it's bank holiday weekend and half term. That means lots of family time and more crafting fun.

I wanted to share some cards I've made recently from all those bits you try out and put to oneside.

I love stamping and trying out new techniques to create backgrounds, so here's a few

I used a messy watercolour effect for this card, using distress ink and water.

This time I splogged distress ink onto a craft mat, sprayed a little water and layed the card on top, when dry I added the stamped images.

I coloured the butterflies using distress ink applied with a wet brush, quick and simple.

This card was created in the same way as the one above. 

I blended distress ink onto white card and sprayed with water, once dry I flick white water colour on to the background and then stamped the gorjuss girl.

This was a really fun card to make, I blended some alcohol ink on to some glossy cardstock using blending solution, I then added some droplets of alcohol ink on top. Once dry I added the sentiment and flourish using black Stazon Ink.

Naturally Gorjuss - Tutorial 10

Good evening everyone, I hope you are all warm and safe out of this nasty storm.  Today I decided to make a natural looking card with a image from the Gorjuss range and wanted to share it with you so that you could have a go at making one too.

Here's how I made it;

I started with a A5 Kraft card blank and edged it with a dark brown alcohol marker

I used a Tonic studios tag die to cut a tag from some brown card

I then used the tag with it's oval inner ring to cut a patterned frame

The die set has a 3rd inner die which I used to cut a little oval mat which my image will sit on

I cut a little sentiment from brown card

To cut my image I used the inner most ring as a template I drew around it and cut it out with some scissors

Hand cutting a curved shape is never 100% perfect so I edged the image with a dark brown pen, this helps to detract from my wobbly cutting

I tied a little bow from 1 ply twine. I do this by making two loops and knotting them together as this results in the loops and tails sitting neatly opposite each other.

Now for laying the card up, I use hi tack glue to stick the brown tag base to the card

I then glue the tag frame in place

And then I added the oval mat

My image was cut from shiny card so I had to make sure to get good adhesion. A little added pressure while the glue grabs will help 

I then added my sentiment in the bottom as it makes you want to open the card and see who it's from

I then added some paper flowers to the corners and the bow I tied earlier

And here we have it, I think it's a super cute card and I love the natural look and feel.

Docrafts - Spotlight post

Good Morning crafty people,

I hope you all had a good weekend and haven't been affected by the cold too much, it's certainly been staying indoors and crafting weather.

Today see's another spotlight post, this time I am focusing on docrafts.  If you are a crafter and lets face it you wouldn't be reading this if you weren't, then you will have heard of or used docrafts products before.

Docrafts sell numerous craft related products from brand names such as Papermaina, craft planet, Anitas, xcut and stick it to name a few. To quote their website their products are  "aimed at beginners to high end items perfect for enthusiasts"

Over the years I have tried many of their products and have never been disappointed in them at all. Here are a few cards I have made this year using their kits;

99% of what you see in the pictures is docrafts product including card blanks and adhesive. Actually all of the adhesive I use except for Candi fix is from one of the docrafts ranges.


Do crafts products are stocked by many retailers including The Range, Hobbycraft and Createandcraft.tv. Their website is packed full of fantastic inspiration, events listings, product details and much much more.

Just Gorjuss - Spotlight post

Evening all

Well it's been a very cold day here in Bristol and I'm feeling a little blah at the moment so I decided to have a look back through some of my previous crafty makes.  I thought I would focus on the Gorjuss range form Santoro.


I have a huge amount of Gorjuss stamps, this is just some of them;

Over the last year I have enjoyed collecting them, stamping them and using Promarkers to colour them in. Here are a few of my favorite ones I done so far;

I have also made some cards using papercraft products stocked by docrafts

Gorjuss is just one of my favorite craft brands, over the next few days I will be uploading brand focused post for companies including Craftwork cards, Folk it and Papermania, I hope that you will pop back and see what I have to share.

Santoro-London Opens it's first store

Santoro London- Bath store opening.

For a long time I have been a Santoro-london fan, I especially love the Gorjuss range, in fact I should say I am a tad addicted to it. I have just over 50 rubber stamps in my craft collection that depicted the wonderful images of the Gorjuss girls.

Well last Thursday I saw online that Santoro were opening a store in Bath, living only 13 miles away in Bristol I decided that I had to go and see what goodies they had..............the thought of the first 200 customers receiving a gift bag may have had something to do with too.

So I set off after dropping my children to school, the opening wasn't until 11:30 so I had time for a relaxed breakfast in Cafe Rouge before getting in line and waiting for the grand opening.

While waiting I took some picture of the window displays;

As the grand opening took place, outside the shop there was a long line of customers waiting to step inside, Gold foiled balloons spelling out the company name and several photographers snapping away, Meera Santoro cut the ribbon and announced the store open.

I was the third person inside and was immediately submerged into a world of magical, dreamy products. It was hard to pay attention to any one item, I was literally like a child in a sweet shop.

I had made a card to take with me using the Gorjuss range of products stocked by docrafts

Once I was able to stop gawping at the shelves I headed over to the counter and found Meera, i had a brief chat with her about Santoro and my love of Gorjuss and then presented her with the card. She called her husband Lucio over and they thanked me for the kind gesture and we posed for photos.

I then made my way to the rear of the shop to have a cheeky glass of prosecco and some chocolate,

I was then handed a gift bag from Lucio and thanked for the card; heres what was in the bag

There was an awesome shopping bag that folds away into a zipped pouch with a beautiful image on the front

I also received a lovely gift form my husband. A new mug with my favorite gorjuss image of all time.

I had a truly love time and will be visiting the store again in the near future.
