Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hello and welcome to the August Be Bold & Beautiful release blog hop and giveaway. You should have arrived here from Jaycee Gaspar, if not you can go back to the start of the hop by visiting the Altenew Card Blog

Be bold, and be beautiful! This release includes fabulous florals, a geometric background, and even a set of sentiments perfect for the bibliophile in your life! We know you will love creating all kinds of inspiring projects with the stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders in this release. It's time to get crafty!

I have made 4 projects to share with, so lets take a closer look.

My first card features the Arch of Flowers stamp, simple coloring stencil and die sets. As soon as I saw this set I knew I needed to make a circle shaped card. I started by stamping the Arch of flowers onto 80lb Neenah solar crest cardstock and the used the Simple Coloring Stencil and the mini blending brushes to add color.

I cut using the coordinating die and then added white gel pen highlights and some glossy accents to the  centre of the large flowers. I added the die cut to a Navy blue card base an heat embossed a sentiment. The really cool things is that this card rocks, if you give it a little tap of the side it goes side to side.

My next card features the Floating Feather 3D Embossing Folder and Well Read stamp set. This is a story of saving a crafty mishap! I had embossed the Floating Feather onto my card stock and was using an inkpad to highlight the embossed areas when I somehow dropped it and it made a huge oval inky mark. My initial thought was to throw it away....however I decided to try and make it work.

I dropped the ink pad a couple more times and did the same with a second colour. I then ink blended some yellow ink all over and added some inky splatters. I then chose a sentiment form the Well Red stamp set and stamped it in black.

Do you think I saved it or should I have thrown it away?

This next card is my favourite one that I've made for a long time. I used the Intricate Mandala Stencil with 3 colors of ink to blend through the stencil. I opted for a jaunty angle, to add a fun feel. I then used the One Go Birthday Stamp and Die set to add the sentiments.

This stamp and die set are just amazing, you stamp once, die cut once and end up with 12 different sentiments. I've stamped, heat embossed and used lots of colors of cards and now have a tub full of sentiments ready to use of future projects.

This card again features the One Go Birthday Stamp and Die set set but this time with the Linear Spiral stamp set. This is a big background stamp, I love these type of stamps that make a big impact. I stamped onto white card and then used some scrap paper to mask of areas and ink blend some color.

  2. I love your cards and all the inspiration you have given me. I definitely believe you saved the second card and that has inspired me to not give up when a mishap occurs. I think we have all been in that spot where we have dropped our supplies onto a card, it is nice to see we are not alone and that it happens. You recovered beautifully.
