Welcome to the July Marvellous Monthly Series release blog hop. You should have arrived here from Bridget Casey, if not you can go back to the start of the ho at any time by visiting the Altenew Blog. Alternatively you can use the links at the bottom of this post to navigate your way.
This release celebrates friendships with its charming images, flowers, and heartfelt sentiments. Show your bestie how much you care, or reach out to a long-lost buddy! We can't wait to see how you use the products in this collection.
I have made several projects to share with you and hopefully inspire your creativity.
I absolutely love Altenew's Craft-Your-Life Project kits and
Craft-Your-Life Always Sunshine Project Kit really did not disappoint. Having a stamp set, die set, simple colouring stencil and embossing folder that all coordinate give me so many options and ideas.
Here I choose to use a zesty lemon colour palette with hints of lilac. I used the embossing folder to emboss white cardstock and added colour with the stencil. I then stamped, coloured and die cut the floral images and added them to my card using foam tape.
A few inky splatters and a sentiment were all that was needed to complete the card. I love the fresh summer feel
My next project uses the
Paint-A-Flower China Rose. I opted for a really simple feel using a fun technique. I started by stamping the image onto watercolour cardstock and then added watercolour using a piece of acetate.
I add watercolour onto a small piece of acetate and then lay it over the chosen area and lightly press it down. I love how this gives a very loose look. I then added a few inky splatters and set it aside to dry. I then added a die cut decorative edge and stamped sentiment.
Next is the first of two cards using the
Build-A-Garden Tulip and Friends set. I stamped the images onto Neenah 80lb solar crest cardstock and used the simple colouring stencil to add colour. I then die cut with the coordinating die. I set this against a stencilled background with a bold black stamped sentiment.
The second card featuring the
Build-A-Garden Tulip and Friends is a simple one layer card. I chose to leave some of the smaller clusters of flowers uncoloured, I like how it feels a little less heavy.
Next is the
Craft-A-Flower Garden Rose. I cut all of the layers from coloured cardstock and then used ink in a slightly darker shade to ink blend onto the die cut pieces. I love how easy this is and how you can achieve a beautiful shadow so easily.
I added the floral elements to an A2 card blank with foam tape and then set about adding lots of inky splatters and a stamped sentiment.
My final card uses the Mini Delight Tropical Greeting. This is a super cute little set, that has a die to cut the Parrot and stamps for adding the eyes and beak. I found it easier to cut the die and slot it back into the waste and then stamp the eyes and beak. I then ink blended some blue ink to tie in with the embossed card base.
The set also includes stamps for a branch and leaves and a die for a flower, this really does help to bring the scene to life.
If you started at the Altenew card blog you will have seen the above card using the
Craft-Your-Life Always Sunshine Project Kit. If not pop over now and find out all about how I created it.
