Altenew April 2022 Spring Garden Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Welcome to the Spring Garden release blog hop and giveaway. You should have arrived here from Cheryl Espie, if not you can go back to the start of the hop by visiting the Altenew Card Blog

I am so excited to be sharing 7 cards with you made with this new release. The release is jam packed full of Stamps, Dies, Hot Foil Plates, Simple Coloring Stencils, Embossing folders and new Adhesive rolls in various widths.

Lets take a look at my cards, you may want to grab a drink...

My first card features the Vibrant Florals Hot Foil Plate, I foiled in gold onto smooth 300gsm cardstock. I use a Foilpress and find the best settings for my Altenew Hot Foil Plates is on a low heat, this particular plate I heated for 30 seconds.

Top Tip -Once you find the best setting for a Hot Foil Plate, write the recipe onto a post it note and add it to the packaging for next time.  My recipie for this card was; Foilpress - 300gsm - low heat- 30 seconds- Foilpress foil

If I use another brand of foil or different card, I make a note of that too, there is no way my brain could remember all the combinations!

To color the image I Used the Simple Coloring Stencil and a small blending brush. The sentiments were added by using the Sentiment Banner Hot Foil Plate and Sentiment Banners cover die (Foilpress -300gsm - Low heat- 45 seconds-foilpress foil)

I then stamped the sentiments using the Sentiment Strips 2 and Sentiment Strips 3 Stamp sets

Next up is the Morning Blooms Hot Foil Plate and Morning Blooms Simple Coloring Stencil. This plate was heated for 30 seconds. I used the Mix and Match Frames Die Set to cut the hot foiled panel and added it to a green panel, I then placed this on to an A2 notecard before adhering the sentiment, which was cut from the Essential Sentiment Strips die set.

This next card uses the new Itty Bitty Branches die set cut from hot pink and turquoise. I foiled a piece of black card with silver foil using the new Chevron Background Hot Foil Plate. My cardstock was only 200gsm so I added another piece of card as a shim and heated for 45 seconds on low. Sometimes you can experience overfoiling in areas, to tidy this up I use an adhesive remover/eraser tool to gently rub over the areas and it picks up the foil.  I added a sentiment using the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set.

I am loving the new Wonderfully Made sentiment die, here I added it to a card made using the  Chevron Background Hot Foil Plate and Mega Stamp Frames die set, which is adhered to a card that was embossed with the Flower Bed 3D embossing folder.

To make the sentiment pop I layered it with a black drop shadow and added it using silicone glue gel.

Next up is the Detailed Web Cover Die, this die is beautiful, it gives off a hippy vibe on this card. I added some gems to the centre of what looks like flowers in the design. I added the Wonderfully Made die cut sentiment onto a strip of black card. It's very different style for me but I really like it.

Next is a super cool product, the Build-A-Flower Primrose Add-on Layering die set. When this die set is combine with the dies from the Build-A-Flower Primrose set it essentially turns it in to a Carft-A-Flower layering set.   I love that Altenew have given us another way to use the Build-A-Flower. I teamed the flowers up with the Herringbone Tiles 3D Embossing folder for a simple background. The sentiment is from the BAF Primrose, I heat embossed it on black card using Crisp white embossing powder.

This final card is rather special. For their 8th Birthday Altenew have release this mammoth 8x10 inch stamp and die set. The Bountiful Bouquet Stamp set and Bountiful Bouquet Die Set create a stunning layered floral cluster that is big enough to fill your card. Here I inked in  Peachy tones and set it against a background the I stencilled using the Broken Chevrons Stencil.
