Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Buttercup Layering Die Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Welcome to the May Craft-A-Flower release, blog hop and giveaway. I am super excited to be joining Altenew for this release. You should have arrived here from Virginia Lu, if not you can go back to the start of the hop at any time by visiting the Altenew Card Blog, alternatively you can navigate using the links at the end of this post.

The CAF Buttercup is available as a one off purchase in store now. I will share details of how to sign up for the monthly subscription at the end of this post.

I have created two cards using the new Craft-A-Flower Buttercup, let's take a closer look.

For my first example I choose to go a little different with my colours, I know Buttercups are traditionally yellow but I'm a sucker for pink flowers. I used the Cherry Blossoms ink pad set to colour some Neenah cardstock, I then cut the layer of the flowers ad adhered them together with wet glue, alternatively you could use Altenew's double sided adhesive sheets on the back of your chosen cardstock.

I cut the leaves from both grey and silver glitter cardstock. I embossed the white background panel using the Diamond squares embossing folder. The sentiment actually comes in the CAF Buttercup set which is a first and it's brilliant.

My second card uses a yellow colour for the flowers, I used the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock to cut the layers, this time I added the double sided adhesive sheets to the back of the card before cutting, this makes it so quick and easy to layer up the flower.

I embossed a piece of card using the Simple frame embossing folder, I gave it a little bit of brown and fussy cut around the edge. My main card was debossed using the Dotted Swirls Debossing cove die. I added my sentiments using the Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set.

Your next stop is Laurie Willison, before you go take a moment to check out the Subscription details and giveaway information.

  3. I really like your two cards and the use of different colors and/or textures. The pink and grey combo is one that I must do as the colors work so well together. The 3-D frame on the 2nd card combined with the textured background added the extra touch and really supported the flower. Super work. You're very creative.
