Seeing is believing - Tattered Lace launch

I am so excited about today's post as I am previewing the new Launch from Tattered Lace; the "Seeing is Believing" collection.

Do you love Unicorns? Well you're in for a treat!

I was sent 4 dies sets and a papercraft collection to work with.

The dies I used are;

and the following paper kit;

My first card is a "z fold" card. I used elements from the paper pack along with some pink spotty paper to mat and layer. I added the Be a Unicorn die cut sentiment and also a die cut Unicorn celebration. I embellished with a snow mesh ribbon.

As soon as I saw the Unicorn Cake die I knew I had to make a pop up box card. I used the balloons from the Unicorn celebration along with the be a Unicorn sentiment and added in some extras using a die from a previous collection called Unicorn Sparkle. I decided to cut everything in white and colour using pink, yellow and blues.

Using the paper kit I created a piece of home decor, I added one of the toppers, a border strip and some backing paper into my frame, I then added a double bow and a sentiment. Perfect for a little girls bedroom.

I made this accordion card using a tattered lace die and added 3 toppers from the paper kit along with some Fleurs.

My next card is a 6x6 simple card. I used the Be a Unicorn sentiment but cut into it, I love the ability to snip into sentiments. I also added the Balloons from the Unicorn celebration die and the Unicorn cake. How cute is this card?

Next we have a twisted easel card using the Unicorn Tapestry die. I opted for a black and white colour theme to show that Unicorns don't always have to be bright. Again I snipped into the Be a Unicorn sentiment to create a stopper from the easel.

Here we have a simple 5x7 matted and layered card using papers from the paper kit along with some more pink spotty paper from my stash.  I added some light pink organza ribbon, gems and glitter glue to give some extra sparkle.

Below are 2 cards made with 5x7 card blanks and the Glittered paper craft kit. I created one card in greens and one in pinks. I added some black card to create drama along with some thin black ribbon and black gems.

This release is amazing, I had to stop myself from making more samples as I had another collection to work with but I will defiantly be working with this set again very soon.

So hands up who's going to be putting some Unicorn crafty goodies into their shopping basket tomorrow?

The collection launches at 12pm Today on Create and Craft TV

Bubble fun with Visible Image stamps

Morning Crafty friends, it's a wet and slightly windy morning here in Bristol,UK and I'm feeling slightly under the weather but I will not let it keep me down, I will craft on.

Do you remember when you were a child using paint and washing up liquid to blow bubbles and pull  prints off the surface of the water? Well who said that it was just for kids?

Today I am sharing 2 cards created with this method and stamps from Visible Image.

I will talk a little about the mix of water, paint and washing up liquid at the end of the post, so stay tuned.

I use a vivid pink paint mix in a large ice cream tub to create the bubbly background, this gave me more surface area to create bubbles and allowed me to choose where to pull the print from. Once dry I stamped an image from the visometry stamp set in black ink and added a sentiment using the Smile-sparkle-shine stamp.

I drew a squiggly border with a fine liner pen around the edge of the white card and then layered it onto some smooth black card before adhering it to a white 5x7 card blank.

I love how the black border makes the pink pop.

For my second card I used a blue paint, water and washing up liquid mix in a tall round beaker to create a circle of bubbles. I then added a striking eye using the where-dreams-take-you stamp set. My sentiment is from the tomorrow-doesnt-exist set.  I used black Versafine ink to stamp both the image and sentiment as it's give a good coverage over the paint.

To use this method you will need; water, washing up liquid, paint (poster paint or acrylic) and a straw.

So, how much paint to washing up liquid do you use? Good question!

I did a bit of research on the internet and found several different answers to this.  I found that it's best to just experiment as depending on what type of paint and washing up liquid you use the effects differ. When testing out my mix I use scrap paper or envelopes from junk mail.

Once you've found the right mix why not try using different shaped containers to blow your bubbles in, or you could cut an aperture from some thick card and place it over your container which will allow the bubble so form your chosen shape.

Have some fun and see what you can create.

Here's the samples I made

These are really useful dies for adding that special touch to your projects.

The doily edged circles are great for matting and layering and the amour flourish is lovely to add dimension or tuck in between layers.

Thats all for today crafty friends, I'll be back later in the week with more cards.

Cute Nativity with Paperbabe Stamps

Morning Crafty friends, I thought I'd share another of my cards made using the new release from Paperbabe Stamps, the Cute nativity stamp set is such a lovely set to work with and can be used in so many ways.

I stamped my image using black Versafine ink and coloured them with Spectrum Noir's Colourblend pencils. I didn't go for a perfectly shaded look as I wanted to keep that simple child-like look.

I added some stars using the Doodle stars stamps also from Paperbabe Stamps.

You can see more of my creations using the Cute Nativity stamps by clicking this link; Paperbabe Stamps Christmas Release

Don't worry, bee happy card tutorial.

Today I am sharing an easy tutorial on how to create this beautiful card using Trimcraft's Bee Happy collection.

I will be using the 12x12 paper pad, the stamps set,and the little bee charms. I will also use Altenew's sand dunes crisp mini ink cube, Versafine vintage sepia ink pad and some beige bakers twine.

Working on a 6x6 card blank I used the Altenew sand dunes ink to stamp some foliage and and flowers on my card. I always stamp off the edge to give the look of a trimmed piece of backing paper.

Next I cut a piece of the paper from the pad to measure 5.5x5.5" and then die cut 2 circles to create an aperture and a circle topper/mat.

I applied the die cut pieces using foam pads to add depth and dimension to the card. You can still see the stamping that I did in the first step.

I die cut another circle from the paper pad and stamped my sentiment using the vintage sepia versafine ink, I adhered this using double sided tape.

Using the bakers twine I wraped it around the left hand side of my card twice and tied it secure. I then added the cute little Bee charm, it's so adorable. The person who receives the card could take it off and add it to a necklace or braclet.

I stamped 2 Bee's onto white card and coloured them using the Altenew sand dunes ink and then fussy cut them. I added them onto foam pads and placed them in the white space, overlapping the patterned paper, this ties all the piece together and give a cohesive look.

Here's a look at the finished card from a funky angle to show the depth of the layers.

And here it is in all it's glory. It's going to be hard to give this one away but I'm sure whoever receives it will be more than happy.

Thank you for stopping by today, Let me know what you think of my card in the comments below.
