Altenew has been such a big part of my life for several years now. I started as a customer, then I started the Altenew Fan Group on Facebook, I then enrolled on the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Last year Altenew asked me to join their Card Design team, as you can imagine this was a dream come true.

Today I have a birthday card to share with you, using the Celebrate With Cake Die Set.

I started by adding Double Sided Adhesive Sheets to the reverse of Neenah Solar Crest 80lb cardstock. I then cut all of the layers from the die set. I pop the die cut pieces back into the card they are cut from to add color, this keeps them in place and makes coloring easier.

To color the die cut pieces I use Altenew's Artist Markers, I love how the markers come in color family sets, just like the ink pads. It allows me to color without too much thinking. I then added all of the layers together to build the cake.

To prepare my background panel, I debossed a piece of white card using the Dotted Stars Debossing Cover Die, I cut this to measure 5.25 inch by 4 inches. I placed it on to a Turquoise A2 card base using foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set, it was stamped on to a banner that was cut and foiled using the Sentiment Banners Hot foil plate and Cover Die Bundle. I added the banner and cake to the card and then cut some stars and a number 8 for the top of the cake from some Gilded Gradient Glitter Cardstock.
