Hello and welcome to the November Paint a Flower blog hop and giveaway. This month Altenew are releasing the PAF:Spider Mums and Craft Your Life Apron. To celebrate the DT and several guest designers are sharing inspiration, You should have arrived here from Nenette S. Madero. If not you can go back to the start of the hop at the Altenew Card Blog.
In this first card I stamped the Spider Mums onto smooth watercolour card using Obsidian ink I then coloured the image with Altenew's 36 pan Watercolour set I added lots of tiny splatters in the background and stamped the sentiment in black.
I'm by no means a great water-colourist but I am very happy with how this card turned out, those tiny splatters make it feel so delicate.
My second card was coloured with Altenew's Artist Markers Set E. This time I stamped the image twice hanging off the left side of the card using a soft grey alcohol friendly ink as I didn't want the outline to be as bold.
I added a soft blue ink blended background using a blender brush (I can't tell you which colour as I just used what was left on the brush from last time I used it) I then stamped my sentiment in black and added a few ink splatters.

Very pretty cards! Love the peachy mums!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Terri, thanks so much for your inspiration! I am in love with this stamp set!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are great but the second one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour two cards are memorable; but number two is a standout. That soft blue made the flowers pop. I never thought of using a grey to stamp the outline - what a magnificent idea that made the orange the focal point. Very engaging beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI like how you hung those flowers off of the edge. Totally different look. I also like the soft look you achieved by using the grey ink to stamp the image. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi. That first card made me very happy with your watercoloring, too! It's very soft from your color choices as well as the spatters.
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful! love the softness of the second one.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your no-line coloring is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI think the second one is my favorite with the blue background. It's brighter and feels more spring. The first one is probably a little more fall? Beautiful as well..
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely. It's nice to see the difference between watercolour and markers side by side. I like the use of grey ink for the markers - great effect - and the stamp placement on that card too.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards! I especially like the way you colored and positioned the mums on the second card.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I especially like the first watercolored card- such wonderful colors that display the beauty of these flowers.

ReplyDeleteI bounced back and forth from your 2 cards trying to decide which was my favorite, and I simply could not choose. I like how you employed the use of complimentary color on the second card. But I really enjoyed the clean lines of the first card, plus the splattered background. I say anyone who gets one of these cards is mighty lucky.
