Scandi Sunday featuring Altenew's Diamond Snowflake Stencil

Hey Crafty friends, I feel like it's been a while since I posted anything non DT related, I've been mega busy with DT work and a broken Ankle and just haven't had much time to craft for fun. Anyway, I thought I'd start a new feature called Scandi Sunday. I love Scandi and Nordic patterns and styles and wanted to create lots of chirstmas cards in this style this year. I plan on making 3 cards a week to share on a Sunday from now until Christmas, I hope you'll be inspired.

Today's post was inspired by the Diamond Snowflake stencil from Altenew, I have paired it with the Festive Foliage stamp and die set to create 3 striking cards, let jump in and see what I made.

My first card is based on a grey and red colour palette. I used the Diamond Snowflake Stencil and some Limestone Crisp Ink to blend a background onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  I then stamped the tree from the Festive Foliage stamp set in Silver Stone Crisp Ink.  I added the heart using Vineyard Berry Crisp Ink. I then use the coordinating Festive Foliage die set and my Mini Blossom die cutting machine to cut the tree.

I blended some Vineyard Berry Crisp Ink onto Neenah solar white cardstock and stamped the sentiment using Obsidian Black Ink. All elements where adhered using foam tape.

My second card was created using the same style layout but in a different colourway.  I used Neenah desert storm card as my base, I like how it's lighter than Kraft card giving a softer feel. Using the Diamond Snowflake Stencil and Embossing Ink I sponged the ink through the stencil and then added Crisp White embossing powder and heat set it.

The tree was stamped using Vineyard Berry Crisp Ink and where the two strip sentiments. I stamped the word "Heart" onto some of the Neenah desert storm card with Embossing Ink and added Crisp White embossing powder and heat set. Again I used foam tape to add all of the elements to give them height and add depth to the design.

My final card is the boldest in my set of 3 and gives a very striking look. This time I blended Vineyard Berry Crisp Ink thought the stencil for the background, I find doing 2 coats of ink blending give a smother effect and eliminate and brush/blender marks. I stamped the tree in Limestone Crisp Ink and added the heart in Vineyard Berry ink.

I stamped all of the sentiment pieces in Obsidian Black Ink onto Neenah solar white cardstock. I fussy cut around the word "Heart" to give it added interest and a smaller presence than if it was cut with straight edges. All of the elements apart from the word "Heart" were adhered with foam tape, for the fussy cut word I used Altenew's Glue Tape runner.

There we have it, 3 Scandi inspired cards featuring the Diamond Snowflake stencil from Altenew. Below are links to the products used and an affiliate statement. I will be back next week with more Scandi inspired cards.
