I wanted to share a few words about my experience with the Altenew Educator Certification Program. The program is set out into 3 levels, each level providing you with tons of skills and ideas to help enhance your crafting arsenal. I have learnt so much and had the best experience ever. Virginia, Nicole and Erum have been on hand to provide advice and guidance when needed. My fellow Educators and I have become a friends, we share ideas and support one another.
If you are wanting to improve your crafting or work towards teaching craft workshops, then the AECP is for you. Don't hesitate, you have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
Ok, so let's have a look at the projects I've created for the hop,
I love Altenew's Stencils for quick cards and funky backgrounds so chose to use the Cube Builder Stencil as the main focus of my card. I used the following Ink colours, Sunkissed, Sunray, Pink Diamond, Baby Pink, Frayed Leaf and Firefly and a blending brush (I find a brush give the most flawless finish)
Using the Crafty Life Stamp set, Embossing Ink and Crisp White Embossing Powder I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment onto some Vellum. I use glossy accents behind the embossed text to adhere the vellum to the background. I then popped the stenciled panel onto a white card.
Working on Solar Crest card stock I stamped the outline image from the Ditsy Print Stamp Set with Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Crisp White Embossing Powder, this give the look of a patterned paper and makes the perfect base for some ink blending.
I used 3 inks to create my backgound Firefly, Sunkissed and Baby Pink I then flicked some clear sparkle ink over the top. I cut the words love and hugs form the Script Word Dies set and coloured them to match my background. I also cut the Ampersand from the Merry Christmas Die set and coloured it as previously mentioned.
I then covered the die cut elements with the clear sparkle ink before adding them to my card. I added some embellishment drops in the center of the flowers for a cute girly look.
My final card is a very different style for me, I used the Dotted Scales Cover die to add texture to a water coloured panel, I created the panel with the 36 colour Watercolor Pan set. I wanted to add a floral image that wouldn't over power the delicate feel of my card so cut a Rose from the Rose filament die set and added some ink to tie in with the background.
My vellum sentiment were stamped using Crisp white embossing Powder, Embossing ink and the Love Letters Stamp Set. I tore around each part of the verse and added some blended ink to the reverse so that hey stood out from the background.
This card is so delicate and has a real handmade feel to it, so feminine.
