Anyone for a cuppa?

Wow...

I finally received my "love a cuppa" kit from CWC and I am in love with the colours and theme. I have always had a thing for pastels and shabby chic, so much so that my kitchen diner is being decorated in that style.

Well after a few days of just looking at the kit as I've been under the weather I finally mustered up the energy to play with the kit, here are a few of the cards I've made so far

This is the first card I made, it was a simple card and I just used some of the die cut elements in the pack and a 6x6 card blank

Next up I got a bit creative and decided a tea cup was called for, I used a card blank from the kit, one of the backing papers, a few small strips of pastel pink to create the rim and the base of the cup and cut out the lettering from another of the papers and put them onto foam pads to add diemtion

Then came the apperture card, I used an xcut scalloped die to cut the front of a 6x6 card blank from CWC, I added craft candi around the opening, a backing paper inside the card, a die cut bow, a white ribbon and tag and then I "fussy cut" the teapot and cup from a paper included in the kit, not bad for 10mins work

But then this beautiful creation happened,

I am so in love with this card, I am actually going to buy a box frame and frame it to go into my diner.

I'm off to have half hour of crafting before settling down with a cuppa Tx

Birthday Girl

Well it's been a bit busy recently,  trying to declutter, arrange a birthday party, make cards and work through pain.

Thursday was my youngest daughters birthday (11 already) she is by no means girly! Pink, ribbon and frills are her enemy...... She is minecraft obsessed so I made her a minecraft pop up box card

She loved it, apparently I'm epic!

I also made her a minecraft inspired birthday cake;

Her friends thought it was awesome, unfortunately it was really warm and it started to subside.....

I am really tired after a very busy weekend so am taking a day off from major crafting and am spending time with my art therapy book.

I'm off now but please pop over to the craftwork cards blog to see 2 of my cards which I entered into the Candi challenge both last week and the week before.

Until next time, have a fab week Tx

The start of new things

This morning my paper trimmer cut it's last paper, I know this doesn't sound like much of a dilemma to some people but when you'v have had a tool for 10 years and it works no more it's like having your right arm cut off..... So a new one is on it's way, hopefully this one will serve my just as well.

Here's a couple of cards I've made this week using the new craftwork cards papers brought from create and craft.

This card was made with Craftwork cards vintage chic papers, xcut cog dies and a stamp that came free with a magazine.  I used a versamark ink pad to cover the candi and then dipped them into clear embossing powder and then used my heat tool to melt it and they now look almost enameled.

This next card was made from the Summerhouse collection also from Craftwork cards, it's one sheet of paper on a card blank, the only thing I did was to cut into the bunting and place mini foam pads underneath to make it look like it's blowing in the wind, this idea came from the lovely and very talented Julie Hickey from Craftwork cards.

Well thats it from me for this week but please do check out my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Home-is-where-the-craft-is/987517127932781  when I reach 100 like I will be giving away the birdcage featured in my previous post.

Have a lovely weekend T x

Happy Easter

It's Easter Sunday, my girls have done their egg hunt, I've eaten bunny shaped crumpets and am about to bake some Easter cupcake.  I just wanted to take this opportunity to say happy Easter and share a couple of pictures with you.

First of all here's a mini wreath I made with a craftwork cards kit, lovely pastel colours

And secondly a couple of cards made using the Suits You Sir kit from craftwork cards, the kit makes male themed cards so easy as the papers and toppers all work together and make it easier to tackle those tricky cards that us crafters struggle to deal with.....

Take care and have some family time over eatser, enjoy the long weekend T x
