Visible Image Angel - Mono printing

Today I am sharing a print I created using the Gelli Plate from Gelli Arts which I then added a stamped image to using Visible Image Angels stamp set.

I used Pebeo acrylic high viscosity paint which I added to the Gelli Plate using a brayer,  I used shades 55 and 352, I then layerd some smooth uncoated card on top to pull the print.

Once dry I used versafine onyx black pigment ink to stamp the large Angel image, you will notice that the image isn't as dark and crisp as it normally is with Versafine, this is because one of the paints I used was metallic, I like the look it gives, it's almost ghostly.

Next I added some black paint through a stencil to encase the image, I also added some Nuvo Jewel drops from Tonic studios. All that was left to do was add the image to some brushed gold cardstock.

I really like how this project turned out and plan on using the image in a box frame as a piece of home decor.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

Tattered Lace Classic Deco collection - Design Team Samples

Good Morning Crafty friends, Not only is it Friday which means the weekend starts very soon but today Tattered Lace are launching a new collection called Classic Deco on Create and Craft TV at 12pm.

I had the pleaseure of working with 3 of the new dies and some of the backing papers from the accompanying CD-ROM.

This first card used the Classic Diasy from the Jazz age elements bundle. I cut 3 of the Daisys in Black and 3 in Gold, I trimmed them down to create a flower topper for this fancy fold card.

This card uses Frank and the Classic Daisy and a lot of matting and layerig.

I made a box using the Classic Daisy and some simple die cut shapes and the card has Molly, a lovey Art Deco lady and of course some feathers.

I used the Classic Daisy and Molly on this card in classic black and gold, the backing paper if from the CD-Rom thats in the show.

Now we have Frank Classic Daisy and Molly, I love how Molly looks as if taking Frank for a walk is all too much for her.

This is a panorama style cards using Frank Classic Daisy and Molly. I used the Classic Daisy to create the corners and the chandelier.

This collection is another really elegant and versatile collection with a timeless feel, a must have for Art Deco lovers.

I hope you'll tune in to watch the show is you can.

Have a lovely weekend x

Mono printing and heat embossing, just another day of carfty fun.

Today I am sharing a card I made using my Gelli Plate, Acrylic paint and Visible Image stamps.

I love to create Mono prints to use as backgrounds, there is an element of surprise with every print you lift, it's like unwrapping a gift on Christmas morning.

For this card I use 2 shades of pink and 1 blue paint, I added 3 small pea sized blobs of each to the Gelli plate randomly and then used a brayer to spread them. I then placed some white card on top and rubbed it over and peeled it back to reveal this stunning print.

Once dry I trimmed the card down to my desired size and used the spare to stamp out my sentiment which I heat embossed in black and then cut out. I like to use the same background paper as it adds a common theme/feel to the card.  I mounted the words onto foam pads to add dimension.

Next I stamped this image onto the right hand side of my card and heat embossed it in black, I love the stark black against the very bright and girly pink.

Using a black fine liner pen I added a hand drawn border around the main card, This frames the image and stops it from looking as though it was just dropped onto a white background.

If you've not tried mono printing before I'd definitely recommend having a go, it gives you another way to experiment with your creativity and create beautiful pieces of art.

I'll be back with more crafty makes soon

Paperbabe Stamp Peony and Bud stamp set Introduction

There's nothing I like more than to share a new release on a Friday with my crafty friends.

Today I am sharing a card made with a beautiful stamp set which the lovely Kim Costello from Paperbabe Stamps designed.

I stamped the main Peony image and leaves on to my card by layering the 2 white layers and stamping across them both.

I decided to only colour the upper layer to add a different look to my card.

I coloured the Peony with Colourblend Pencils from Spectrum Noir, I used Crafters Companion pencil blending solution to give a smoother blend.

The sentiment is from one of Kim's previous releases Whimsical words fibreboard substrates, I coloured this gold and adhered it to the card using glossy accents. I then layered my stamped layers with some black card and added some AB sequins and black thread to complement the look.

You can find this and many more stamps in the Paperbabe Stamp Shop. and find the blog here - http://paperbabestamps.blogspot.co.uk/

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you all have a fab weekend.

The Tattered Lace Snipability test - how many looks can you get from one die

Today I'm here to share with you how I put a new die to the test when I get one. I call this the "Snipability test"

As I've mentioned before when Stephanie Weightman designs her dies she always packs them with at least 3 ways in which they can be snipped into giving the customer more for their money.

Now I'm a frugal Crafter (according to my husband I'm just a bit tight) and I always want more for my money so I always apply the Snipability test to my new dies.

In this example I am going to be using the Botanical Rose Tapestry die set from Tattered Lace

Here's what the die looks like

It's a beautiful die and straight away you can probably see several options of how to use it. The first stage in my Snipability test is to cut several pieces of copier paper with the die, dont use your good paper for this part as you will be experimenting and do not want to waste your pretty papers.

Here is the die cut in it's entirity (Left Image) you also get the Butterfly in the set. Now you can easily cut the frame away and create decorative corners and frames.

Now if you cut away the lady you have a stunning frame with a Rose. The lady and plaque can be kept together and used in several ways, or separated. If you cut it from Mirror card it could look like she's looking into a mirror.

How about if you remove the Rose? You get a frame with the lady and plaque and a separate rose to embellish your projects.  The butterfly (top right) shows how you can cut into your page and leave an outline or use the die cut as an embellishment.

Next you can cut out all of the internal piece to leave a very elegant frame. The section cut out can be added to a circle aperture for a different look.  The Rose head can be removed from the stem and used in several ways.

As you can see theres so much you can get from just one set, it's amazing, I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. You can see some of the sample cards I made by looking at this blog post Tattered-lace-4th-anniversary-what-week.

If you'd like to purchase the die set you can find it here  Tattered Lace botanical rose tapestry die set

Thank you for stopping by, I'd love it if you left me a comment below especially if you can see any other ways to use the die.
