Welcome to the Folktales and Stories Collection Release Blog Hop and Giveaway, you should have arrived here from
Cheryl Espie, if not you can go back to the start of the hop by visiting the
Altenew Blog.
The March release is jam packed with 7 new stamp sets, coordinating dies and simple coloring stencils.
I have 7 projects to share with you using the new release products, lets take a look.
I used the Botanical Bookmark stamp to stamp the word "Read" I used greens and Purples, I then cut it using the coordinating die. For an extra pop I cut the word read from purple card to act as a drop shadow behind the stamped version. I added these to the bookmark and stamped that secondary part of the text, lastly I added a little bit of green ribbon.
Next we have a really fun card using the
Cat Life Stamp Set. I stamped some of the cat images onto a white cardstock panel using black ink. I then stamped the ball of wool from the set in orange to fill in some of the spaces.
Using the
Brush Alpha die set and the
Simple Alpha die set I created my Punny sentiment. Each letter was cut 4 times to create a faux chipboard style letter. A little matting and layering in orange and black pulls the whole card together.
The
Endless Florescene stamp set is huge, I had to make a slimline card so that you could see it in all it's glory. I stamped the image onto Neenah solar crest 80lb cardstock and used my Altenew Artist markers to color the image. I then cut it using the
Coordinating die set.
I created a background with the Floating Foliage 3D embossing folder. The embossing folder is a 6x6 inch so wasn't big enough to emboss my card in one pass, I worked out where the tallest part of the stamped image would sit and made sure that any joint would be hidden behind. I embossed from one end and then from the other meeting where the tall flower sits, before I embossed I added some light blue ink to the embossing folder to give a subtle effect.
The next two card are a set, a twofer if you like.
I started by stamping and white heat embossing the
Geometric Botany Stamp Set onto some Bristol Smooth card. I then used some autumnal ink colors to add on Ombre ink blend. I then took a dry baby wipe to buff the surface and remove ink from the embossed line.
I used a heart die to cut an aperture in the Gemoetric Botany stamped panel and set the heart aside for the second card. I trimmed the panel to measure 4" by 5.2" and added it to an A2 note card using foam tape. I then die cut the word Kisses using the
Fancy Kisses Die. I then used the new
Fancy Kisses Stamp Set to stamp the secondary part of my sentiment. I also added a few clear dew drops.
So, the second card was Made using the die cut heart that I set aside from the card above. I added it to background which was embossed with the
Ribbon Waves 3D embossing folder. Using the
Fancy Kisses Die I cut from both brown and white and stacked them together to give a drop shadow.
I used the
Fancy Kisses Stamp Set to stamp a couple of sentiments to add to the die cut word, creating my own personalised sentiment. I added all the elements to an A2 note card using foam tape.
Here I used pink tones to stamp the tree. I die cut the tree using the
Coordinating die set, I sat it on a background which was debossed with the
Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover die. I added a couple of pieces of washi tape down the left of the card and stamped the sentiment in black.
My final card is one of my favourites, it has a real magical feel to it. I stamped the Tree of Fantasy in shades of grey and then heat embossed the the top layer with Copper embossing powder. I did this to 3 trees.
I created a background with some very rough ink blending and inky splatters in shades of pink. I trimmed the background panel and edge it with a pink ink pad and then set about adding the trees using foam tape.
This is where I realised I had forgotten to add my sentiments...thankfully using my stamp platform/MISTI I was able to place and stamp the sentiments with out any issues. I then added this panel to an A2 note card.
