The CYL Project Kit:Dynamic Blossoms is one of the best kits so far in my opinion. Not only do you get a large 6x8 inch layering stamp set, a 3D embossing folder, simple coloring stencils and die set but this kit has some super cool dies and stencils that can also be used on their own! Oh and I forgot to mention that their are 2 sentiment dies included too!
You can tell how much I love this kit by the fact that I have made 6 cards! I had to stop myself from making more but I have so ideas for future cards. I'm sharing 5 of the 6 cards here, you will have seen the sixth card on the Altenew blog at the start of this hop. Let's take a closer look.
My first card features the stunning 3D embossing folder from the kit. I embossed it on to 80lb Neenah Solar crest cardstock which I had spritzed with water. Once dry I added some ink blending using
Dew Drops crisp dry ink. I then took the
Enchanted Gold Pigment ink pad and gently rubbed it over the embossed surface to highlight the raised areas. I also gently rubbed it on the edges of the card.
Using the
Teal Cave ink I added some ink splatters and then did the same with some gold metallic ink. I added a sentiment onto a white banner using one of the dies from the kit along with one of the sentiment stamps. I used
Aqualicious ink to edge it.
Next up, I used one of the stencils in the kit to dry emboss. I ran it through my die cutting machine with a rubber embossing matt, with the stencil still in place I added a layer of
Aqualicious ink. I then removed the stencil and ink blended the whole card panel with
Dew Drops ink.
I added blue and gold inky splatters and set it aside to dry. Using the You die from the kit I die cut in gold and
Aqualicious and layered them together. I added a secondary sentiment onto a foiled banner that was cut and foiled using the
Sentiment banners cover die and coordinating
hot foil plate.
My third card uses the stamp set. I stamped the outline using Obsidian Ink and the base layer in
Dew Drop Crisp dye ink. I then used my Woodless Coloring Pencils to add details. I cut the image using the coordinating die and set this aside while I worked on the background.
To create the background I added inky splatters in blue and gold onto a 80lb Neenah Solar Crest panel. I then added this to an A2 card base that I inked using Galactic Stream crisp dye ink. I cut the two sentiment die from Gold satin card and added them to the card. I then placed the die cut flower on to the card using foam tape.
Here I used one of the dies to cut an aperture in a piece of white card before placing Copper card beneath. The addition of inky splatters adds interest and fills some of the white space. I stamped, coloured and cut the floral image before adding it to the card using foam tape.
The sentiment was created using one of the dies and one of the stamp sentiments. I edged the die cut panel with blue ink before adding it to an A2 notecard.
My final card is a shaker card, it's been a while since I made one...
I cut the flourish die from a piece of Bristol smooth card which I inked with
Teal Cave ink. I spritzed with water and added gold splatters. I placed acetate behind the aperture and then added foam tape to create a well in which to add the sequins. I then placed a piece of copper card behind to enclose everything.
I added the shaker element to a white A2 card blank and placed the copper die cut sentiments in the top left corner.
