Color Therapy is probably something you have heard lot about in the media, is it something you've tried? I always thought that as someone who crafts most day that I didn't need any sort of color therapy, boy was I wrong.
Sitting with total silence and just some coloring tools and something to color in has the most amazing effect on my brain and mood. I'll admit I'm not the best at doing realistic coloring and shading but that is not what this is about. Clearing your mind, taking time for you and relaxing is whats important.
I find that when I color an image like the one below I have to close the world out, I sit alone and just go with the flow...well I have a rhythm, mainly because I'm a tad OCD about things. I like to colour all of the leaves, then any berries or flourishes, the the petals, then the centres of flowers and lastly I add and highlights.
If alcohol markers aren't your thing don't panic, Altenew has pencils, watercolors, spray inks and so many other mediums that you could try. I'm not here to sell you anything/enable you today, just to remind you that you matter and encourage you to time a little time for you, for this reason I have not used affiliate links in this post.
