Welcome to the March 2020 Washi tape release blog hop and giveaway, you should have arrived here from Laurie Willison's blog, If not you can go back to the begining of the hop at any time by following this link https://altenewblog.com/March-2020-Release-Blog-Hop
I am super excited to be joining Altenew as a guest for this hop which is full of inspiration from an abundance of talented designers. You can view all of the new Washi tapes here in the New release product section.
I've created 9 cards for the hop, most of which are super easy and quick to make, allowing the washi tape to shine and be the focal point of my cards, so let's jump in and see what I created,
My first card features the Floral Field Washi Tape, this washit aoe is stunningly elegant. The floral imagery with the gold edges work so well together and are the reason I wanted to keep this card simple.
I added a strip of the washi to the left hand side of a note card and added a sentiment using the Fancy Hello die cut from Gold Mirror card.
My second card features the Rose Petal Washi Tape Set, this set is one of four that consists of four coordinating washi tapes just like the ink pads they take their name from.
I added a strip of each colour diagonally across the lower half of my card starting with the lightest colour. The tapes are very fogiving and can be removed and repositioned if needed. My sentiment was created using the lighest tape added to some thin white card and die cut using the Fancy Hello die.
This card is similar to the card above in that it uses all four colour of the Sea Shore Washi Tape Set, this time I added them horizontally across the card.
It's so easy to make a striking card with these washi tapes, the tapes in the coordinating colour sets are slightly transparent so can be layered allowing you to make transitional colours. I added a sentiment with the Thank You die cut in white. I embellished with some white Nuvo drops.
The Marbled Dream Washi Tape is stunning, shaed of green with a gold veining running through it, I love this tape. It's also wide enough to act as the main background of a card at 107mm wide.
I added some to a piece of whie card and trimmed it down to measure 3.75"x5", I placed this panel onto some foam tape and added it to a A2 note card. I added a simple white sentimetn using the Hang in there die.
My next card features 2 of the washi tapes, I took one pink and one teal shade from the Rose Petal Washi Tape Set and the Sea Shore Washi Tape Set.
I added both strips of tape to some white card making sure to butt them up tightly. I then die cut my sentiment from this using the Tall Alpha die set, they create such an impact against the Orante cover die, a final ssprinkle of AB sequins was all that was need to finish this card.
The Painted Dots Washi Tape is so striking, I love black and white and decided to add ultra bright flowers against the washi for high contrast.
I used the Perennial Beauty stamp set and Perennial Beauty die stamped in zingy citrus shades. I added a sentiment using the Simple Friend die, I love the ultra modern feel of this card.
Gold Splatter Navy Washi Tape, wow what can I say, Navy and Gold are such a classic combination, so elegant and a very versatile colour pallet.
The Gold Splatter Navy Washi Tape is large enough to cover an A2 note card, which is what I did for this card. I added the Mid century frame die, cut in gold mirror card and added a sentiment which I embossed onto vellum and then sprinkled some gold sequinns.
Next up is the Marsh Land Washi Tape, I can see this tape being used for so many types of card and occasions as it's subtle grey foliage is very understated.
For this card I added two layers of the washi tape, maing sure to rotate my card 180 degrees so that the foliage comes in from differnt angles, this gives two shades of grey. I added a teacup and sacucer from the Vintage Teacup stamp and Vintage Teacup die set.
My last card again features the Gold Splatter Navy Washi Tape, this time I wanted to show how beautiful the washi tape can look when die cut.
I die cut the Washi tape using the Orante cover die, I added the gold A using the Mega A die, the heat embossed sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips stamp set.
