Welcome to the October 2019 Altenew Stamp, Dies and mask/Stencil release. You should have arrived here from Norine Borys blog, if not you can get back to the beginning of the hop by clicking here: https://altenewblog.com/October-2019-Release-Blog-Hop-2

This months release is full of stamps, coordinating dies, mask/stencils and stand alone string Art dies. There really is something for everyone. I am super excited to guesting on this hop, so lets jump in and see what I've created.

For my first card I have used the Hello Winter die set. The die set, which cuts the word Winter is different from other Altenew sentiment dies because you get 2 dies!  Not only can you cut the word winter but you can stack one on top of the other to give a beautiful mat and layered look. Both dies can also be used alone.

My second card also features the Hello Winter die set but I also used the matching Hello Winter stamp set. Using the snow fall stamp (that's what I've named it) I stamped my background in 2 shades of blue and then heat embossed another layer in silver. I love the busy background this creates. I've added a snowy treeline in the foreground which gives the perfect place to add the Winter die cut. A super cool modern card.

Now on to the Precious Peony stamp set and Precious Peony die set. This is a simply stunning set. I stamped the large Peony spray and heat embossed in Rose Gold. This allowed me to water color the image without fear of going outside of the lines. I chose to use peach tones to tie into the background panel featuring the Broken Chevron stencil.  The background was created by adding some texture paste trough the stencil and then spraying with Altenew's Warm Sunshine Metallic Ink Spray.

My second card featuring the Precious Peony stamp set and Precious Peony die set is a very simple one. I stamped and heat embossed the Peony spray onto vellum with Rose Gold embossing powder. I love how delicate this looks. I die cut the flower and added it to a panel which had some Gilded Ombre washi tape added to it.  I hand tore the edges of the washi tape to give a softer feel.

Next up is the Rose Blossom Stamp set and Rose Blossom Die Set. I stamped the Large Rose image onto some Peach Gold washi tape and heat embossed. I then die cut the Roses and added them to a card which had some fussy cut leaves from the Misty Meadows washi tape.

My second card using the Rose Blossom Stamp set and Rose Blossom Die Set is one of my favourite cards. I couldn't help but go traditional and create a card with layered red roses. I added detail int he background of the card by stamping the smaller floral sprig images in light grey. I added a sentiment on top of some black and white strip card and a few black sequins to add a modern touch. I love the juxtaposition of the soft florals and harsh black in this card, I think it is my true style.

Now this next card I'm a little bit giddy about, it features a new style of die for Altenew, string art dies. String art dies allow you to add thread to your projects. The die itself pierces a pattern (in this case a butterfly) into your card. I added some Gold Peach washi to white card and ran the die through my machine and it pierced no problem. I then used some metallic gold thread to string/stitch the butterfly.  This is such a fun concept and I can see so many possibilities.

Still working with the String Art butterfly die die, I this time chose to go darker. I used a color change embroidery thread to stitch the Butterfly into some black card. I decided to add some splatter in the background with the Iridescent ink spray.

The next die I used is the String Art Heart die die. I cut the die into my card and stitched using some color change thread. I added a white embossed sentiment on black card to contrast against the soft colors of the thread.

My final card again uses the String Art Heart die die, this time however I have passed the die through my machine and then added a smaller heart die in the middle to cut a Heart shaped aperture. This enabled me to stitch over the edge of the aperture to create a totally different look.  I love how fun these String art dies are and can't wait to play with them some more.
