Bobbin Street dies launch - DT makes

Todays post is something a little different, I was asked to make some samples for a new range of dies that are launching tomorrow from Bobbin Street.

I'm not the best sewist but I do like to have a go, below are some of the project I made and links to the products used.

I started off with a simple applique using the buttefly from the new launch. This was a very simple die cut and stitch type of project. I did however add some little stitches to look like a trail.

This project was one of my biggest samples and took a lot of hand stitching I used the English Paper Piecing die set 2. I had never Paper pieced with fabric before and this took a while but I am really happy with how it turned out.

After getting the hang of English paper piecing I decided to up my game and try something even more adventurous......why do I do this to myself?

I found some pictures of Moravian star ornaments and thought I can do that. 60 individual English paper pieced diamonds later and my fingers almost fell off, lol

It is around 6" tall and took me roughly 5 evenings of stitching to complete.

To give me fingers a little rest I decided to use the diamond shape dies to create some mini bunting adorned with bows and buttons.

Lastly I used the applique butterfly to embellish a simple tote bag.

The dies are so versatile as you can cut both paper and fabric with them.

Paperbabe Stamps challenge #65

Today we have a new challenge for you at Paperbabe Stamps

Below are two images, The Pantone colour of the year is Ultra Violet, so we have a colour and a floral image

You can use the images any way you choose, let your imagination run free and create something fun.

I created a card to help inspire you

After a good look through my crafty stash I settled on something a little different. I was inspired by the colour and floral images but wanted to create something that was my spin on the theme, I got to  thinking about how the Pom Poms in the Designa knit set reminded me of Alium heads.

I started by Inking a piece of super sooth card using Distress Oxide in seedless preserves, I ombred the  background slightly, in order to add intesity to the top part of the background I added a little Distrees Oxide Peacock feathers. I then used the large pom pom and some Disstress Ink seedless preserve to stamp my pattern.  I then added some sparkle to the smaller pom poms using a clear sparkle embossing powder.

The sentiment comes in two parts was stamped in black ink and white embossing powder.  I wrapped some twine around the top section and adhered to a card blank.

I hope I've shown how you can create something pretty even if you dont have the same colour or flower.

Tattered Lace world launch - DT Samples

I have 3 cards to share today using the World Launch from Tattered Lace dies which is set to launch on Create and Craft TV tonight at 7pm as part of their world wide week event.

First up is a shaker card using the If wishes were kisses die set. I cut the boy and girl in black card and added them behind a pink heart apperture.

Next we have a cute card featuring the sweet little boy and girl, I opted for a muted pallet and simple design using one of the Lace edge essential dies.

In this final card I used all 3 of  the die sets I was sent, I love how the Lace edge and beaded chains circles can work perfectly together.

The nesting dies are a fantastic addition to my collection and the cute little boy and girls are so adorable.

I have added links for each product below.

Anniversary card - Altenew Educator certification program challenge

I am so excited to be sharing this project with you, this card is my final one for the Level 1 Altenew educators certification program. After taking all 10 classes and submitting my work I was asked to make an Anniversary/love/wedding card skils things I have learnt from 3 of the classes.

Choosing which three was to use was a little tricky as I learnt so much and in a way I think my card combines elements from several classes.

I was inspired by the All about layering 1 and 2 classes and wanted to use layered floral images so choose to use the Vintage rose stamps and dies.

I used the following colours for my flowers; Blush, Peach perfect, Rouge and Caramel toffee.

I loved the Easy die cutting class and some of the things I learnt, so my leaves were die cut from vellum and then heated embossed using Golden Peach embossing powder.

In the Clean and Simple Boutique cards class I learnt about the use of white space and adding foiling or metallic elements to projects, adding embossing powder to the leaves creates a metallic effect, the shine is stunning yet subtle.

I have had a blast and learnt so much form some very talented designers/tutors.

I hope this card gets me a pass and I can progress on to level 2.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have liked this project.

Terri

Easy Die cutting techniques - Altenew Educator Certification Program

Good morning everyone, today I am sharing a clean and simple stamped and die cut card.

I created my card using Altenews Vintage teacup stamp and die set. I was inspired by the Altenew class Easy die cutting techniques. I think sometimes it's easy to get caught up in trying out the next new technique and to forget about how we can make clean simple cards using the set we have in our stash.

I stamped my tea cup and saucer onto some Solar crest card and used Altenews Artist markers to colour the image.  I added the polka dot detail using the stamp in the set along with Lavender fields ink set.

I added the steam image in grey and my sentiment in black.

I think letting the imagery speak for itself makes this card beautiful
