Lets build a rainbow with Altenew's Halftone circles

Today I am sharing a quick tutorial using Altenew's Halftone Circle stamp and die bundle to create 2 cards.

I took my inspiration from a demo by Lydia Evans

I started by cutting some paper into 1/4" and 1/8" strips. I choose bright colours but you can darker or pastel to suit your taste.

I then cut a piece of card and a piece of double sided adhesive to 4.25" x 5.5"

I applied the double sided adhesive to my card and removed the backing. I choose to place my paper in a diagonal orientation.

Once I had covered the whole piece of card I flipped it over and started to trim back the loose ends.

How amazing and bright does that look.

Next I used the Thanks die to cut into my rainbow card. (I kept the die cut to use later)

I added my panel to a card that was slightly bigger than my panel, leaving a even boarder all the way around.

I than used the matching stamp to stamp into the negative space using black ink. I also added some black Nuvo drops to draw the eye to the sentiment.

And here's what it looks like, I think this would make a really cool card for a teenager, you could play around and use different sentiments but for me this is going to be given to my daughters friends to say thank you for her birthday present.

Now remember that die cut I said to save,............

This is what I did with it. I used the same stamp to add the inked sentiment on top and then used a hole punch to punch several little circles from coloured paper.

They took a while to stick down but it was worth it.

I hope I've shown that you can take your stamps and dies and use them in a totally different way.

Please leave me a comment below to tell me what you think of my cards.

Tattered Lace Ornemental vintage Postcards Kit - DT Samples

Hey Crafters

As you may know Create and Craft are celebrating their 14th birthday at the moment and as part of the celebrations Tattered Lace have some amazing new releases.

The Ornamental Vintage Postcards kit is such a beautiful kit full of shabby chic colours and vintage designs.

I have not had a paper kit to work with for a while now but as soon as I saw this I fell in Love, in fact I'll tell you a little story;

I had finished all my samples for the birthday show when I was sent this kit to work with so I asked the lady who coordinates the DT if she still wanted me to make more samples and she said yes.  I was so glad she did, I laid out the papers and  within 30 mins I had made all of these cards and a tag.

I have added links under each project to the items used, the link takes you straight to products on create and crafts website.

I hope you can see just how pretty this kit is, it was so easy to work with and for the price of £8.09 for create and craft club members it is a real bargain.

The launch show is 12pm Friday 21st April on Create and Craft TV

Altenew garden hydrangea

Today I am sharing a card made with Altenews Garden Hydrangea stamp set.

I stamped the flower using the Shades of Purple mini ink cubes, the leaves were accidentally stamped in the wrong greens. I used the Tropical Forest ink cubes instead of the Green fields ink cubes.

At first the leaves looked a bit too vibrant against the lilac shades in the flowers but after adding the black sentiment and black card base I think colours work.

I added some iridescent sequins in various sizes to add some texture and dimension

I also added some in splatters in one of the purple shades to fill some of the white space.

I am loving vibrant floral cards at the moment, thanks for stopping by today, I'll be back tomorrow with more crafty inspiration.

Beautiful florals

After a busy Easter and my Daughters 13th Birthday I have finally had time to stamp a couple of card panels using my Altenew stash.

I wanted so floral cards inspired by the recent warmer weather and blooming garden.

For this card I used the Vintage Rose stamp and die sets to create the floral arrangement. I added some background interest using the tiny bubbles stamps and then stamped my sentiment using the Adore you stamp set.  I thought a little silver sparkle with the blue works well so added the washi tape to the bottom of the card front.

Again for this I use the Vintage Rose stamps and die set.  I thought a pink stripey background would look pretty so used the Handmade tags set to add the pattern. I added my sentiment from the Hello sunshine set and sprinkled a few sequins and gems for sparkle.

I hope you like todays projects

Stamping fun with For the love of stamps.

Good morning Crafty friends
It's Good Friday and today I am sharing a few cards I made with stamps from Hunkydory Crafts For the love of stamps range.

For this card I used the Just my type stamp set from the March release. This set is really versatile as there is a full mini alphabet that can be used on the paper scrap stamp or on the typewrites paper.

This card comes from one of my daughters favourite sets Say cheese! As soon as she saw it she wanted it, I used the negative strip as borders down the side of the card base and then created a topper panel using some masking techniques to layer the polaroid pictures. Hunkydory sell A4 masking sheets in packs of 3 which are perfect for creating masks that can be used again and again.

My dad recently moved home and I need to create a card for him and knew that the Delightful decorating set would be perfect. I took inspiration from the Desgin team samples shared on Facebook and made this card, again I used the masking sheets to create masks that can be used again and again.

For the love of stamps offer a hugs range of stamps and papers. I love that each months release has 10 sets of stamps, co ordinating masks and often there are paper pads or a magazine too. There really is something for every occasion.

Whatever you are up to this Easter I hope you find time to craft and be creative.
