Fun with Alcohol.....inks

Hi crafty friends

I've been having a little play with Alcohol Inks recently, I started by creating some background papers, which in their own right looked fab but then I wanted to incorporate them into some cards and stand alone piece of art.

This first card was made using an inked background and then a stencil overlay, I added some twine and a sentiment to complete it.

This card is a bit different for me, I inked the stripes with alcohol ink, then used the inks through a flower stencil and finished the background with some over stamping in a brown archival ink.  A couple of bits of twine and a simple sentiment help to complete the look.

Now this one is a riot of colours.

This card brings together a sentiment stamp, a simple butterfly stamp and an inked background. I edged the main image with a line of black ink and mounted it onto white card.

This is one of my all time favorite alcohol ink backgrounds I've made, I added a flourish in the top corner and a art quote from paperbabe stamps. I then matted onto black card.

Alcohol inks are such a fun medium to work with, you can't guarantee what the end result will look like and for a control freak like me thats scary business but it's also fun waiting to see what happens.

I hope you like these projects, If you've had a play with Alcohol inks maybe you'd like to share some pictures with me, you can do so by visiting my facebook page Home is where the craft is

Until next take
