Paperbabe Challenge #55 - Design team inspiration.

It's Friday, Yay

We have a new challenge on the Paperbabe Stamp blog today
this time it's a layout inspiration.

You can join in with the challenge by visiting

Onto my Design team inspiration
I chose to rotate the layout in my card below

Rather than use a circle I opted for one of Kim's Bottle substrates and added a butterfly emerging from it.

I used one of the new sentiment stamps that have been added to the store, I love the sentiment and typeface.

I added sparkle to the bottle over the chalk paint and it gives such a nice effect.

I hope you will join in with the challenge, remember there is always a prize up for grabs!

The items I used to create my card are listed below along with a link to the Paperbabe Etsy store;

You can buy the stamps,stencil and mdf here;

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great weekend.

Stencil Girl and Colourcraft Blog Hop

I am so excited about today's post and to be part of this amazing blog hop.

Stencil Girl and Colourcraft have teamed up to bring you some fantastic projects over the next 3 days.
I have created a piece of home decor using some of my favourite products.

Let me walk you through the process for creating this project.

Working on a gesso coated canvas board I used a brayer to apply a layer of blue Aztec paint.

I then add gold Aztec paint also using the brayer. I dry this with my heat gun and then add some Prussian Blue brusho to some gel texture medium and apply it with a palette knife to the canvas. I heat this with my heat gun and allow some areas to bubble, I then scrape this with a clean palette knife to distress the area.

Next I add detail to the border of my canvas by stippling some gold Aztec metallic paint through the random  lace stencil from Stencil Girl.

To add the text I mixed black Brusho with some of the gel texture medium and applied it with a palette knife through the Lets go "1" stencil. This is a fabulous stencil that allows you to build your own verses and sentiments.

The finished piece has turned out beautifully. I am so happy with it and can't wait to hang it in my home.

Tattered Lace Summer Harvest Launch - Design team samples

Hi Guys, Today I am sharing my DT samples for Tattered Lace's summer harvest launch which takes place Friday 11th at 12pm on Create and Craft TV.

I was sent 2 new sets to play with and have had lots of fun.

The set I used are listed below with direct links to Create and Craft's website so you can see the prices etc

My first card uses the cute kittens, they are so adorable. I coloured them with alcohol pens and added them to a card using some of my other Tattered Lace dies.

This card uses both the Summer harvest oval and the cute kittens. I made a simple easel card and added the oval using foam pads. The oval has a few extra embellishment dies with it which I used to add dimension to areas and make the stopper for the easel.

I snipped into the cute kittens so that there were just 2 of them in the oval.

This is an 8x8 card which I've added the oval to and used a sentiment from my stash. I chose lemon and white for the card to keep a clean and simple look.

I love the gold and white look of this card. I teamed gold mirror card with gold glittered vellum.  It's so luxurious and perfect for a special anniversary.

I used the floral strip that come in the oval set to create a border on a card. This is a very simple card but shows how you can use the additional dies.

Silver mirror card team with a white card blank and mini black gems create an elegant.

I wanted to show how the kittens could be used in a playful way by snipping into them. I made a fun shaped card and added the kittens to look like they have been climbing and playing. The flowers are cut from Fleurs flower forming dies.

These are just 2 of the sets in the launch, there are many more available, tune into the show for more samples, inspiration and demonstrations from Nancy Watt.

Tropical themed cards using Altenew's Totally Tropical and Parrot Paradise.

Hey there crafty friends, how are you all? I hope you are well.

Sorry I've not posted for a while, I've been on a little family holiday and it's left me feeling all warm and happy so I decided to use some of my new stash to make some tropical themed cards.

All 5 of the cards below were made using Altenew products which I will link below the pictures for you.

..................

My first card combines lush green foliage with striking gold accents.  I used gold mirror card to die cut my sentiment and complimented it by adding two lines of gold foil which I adhered using red super strong tape.

Similar in style to the first card I used green leaves and a gold sentiment, this time the sentiment was cut from golden linen effect card which has less of a shine.

Now I was getting a little bit excited at having new inks in my collection and had seen a card on  Pinterest with pink foliage and gold embossing and wanted to do my take on it.  I cut the sentiment from gold mirror card and heat embossed the gold leaf outlines before stamping the pink leaves.

It's important to heat emboss first as the embossing powder sticks to the coloured ink even though it is a water based ink that dries quickly....believe me I've tried and made that mistake.

I stamped out the Parrot image using Memento ink as I wanted to use Alcohol markers to colour it.  I fussy cut the image as there isn't a die for it yet.  I used the green fields inks to stamp my leaves and the black from the set to add the sentiment. I placed the Parrot on to some foam pads for added dimension.

Next it was time to try out the Totally tropical flowers, they are so pretty and easy to align the layers, they also work perfectly with the leaves from the Parrot Paradise set.  I added my stamped panel onto a black card blank leaving a slight black edge to the left and right.

I am so happy with these cards and totally head over heels in love with these new stamps. I have wanted to add some tropical stamps to y stash for a long time and am so glad that I waited until Altenew released them, I'm even happier that they were deigned by my Craft idol Lydia Evans, her stamping style is what reignited my love of stamping and started me on my CAS card journey, Thank you Lydia x
