Paperbabe stamps challenge #78

It's time for a new challenge over at the Paperbabe stamps blog and the theme this time is
"It flies"

So think wings, feathers, butterflies.......

I put together a mixed media note card to help inspire you

I started off by creating a background with distress oxide inks and Checkerboard stencil , Knit stencil and Roses stencil to add texture to my background.

I then stamped and heat embossed butterflies using the Pieridae Butterfly stamp set. I also added some detail with a fin liner and edges the card with black ink.

If you'd like to join in with the challenge pop over to the Paperbabe Stamps Blog and find all the details including the linky tool.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Today shall be called Teal Tuesday

Today I have been beavering away in my craft room creating some cards using Altenew products. I seem to be in a teal mood and cant get enough of Altenew's Platinum embossing powder either.

Let me share my project and tell you a little about how I made it.

I started by working with the Sea Shore inks and creating a ombre background. Once dry I stamp the wood Pallet background and heat embossed it with Platinum embossing powder. This effect is soooo pretty.

I then stamped and embossed the frame from the friend set and embossed it to match my background. I then cut some of the Rose flurries from white card. I weaved the foliage through the frame and adhered them to my card. i then added the roses and tucked some leaves under them.

(Look at the depth and dimension)

My sentiment was also from the Sweet friend stamp set, I stamped it with embossing ink and sprinkled it with embossing powder. Once heat set I used a banner die to cut it and added it to my project with foam pads.

The teal, white and Platinum colour pallet is so classy and pure I love it. I have added links to all of the products I used below to make it easier for you to find them on Altenew's website.

See you again soon with more pretty creations.

Time for a change

Happy Saturday Crafters, how are you enjoying this crazy weather we've been getting? I dont do so well in the heat so I've been indoors with a huge fan on keeping cool.

I wanted to share some news with you regarding my crafty life and whats happening.

Over the last 2 years I have been part of the Tattered Lace (and associated brands) design team. This has been an amazing journey and has helped me make lots of friends.  I spent a lot of time making samples for various TV launches and learning new things. Now is time for a change, I have stepped down from Tattered Lace and their other brands teams, this is going to give me a chance to catch my breath and focus on some new ventures.

I can't share all the details yet but it is an exciting time for me.

The things I can share are; I have almost finished the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I have one final challenge to complete.  I will be holding an Altenew workshop at the end of August where I will be teaching various techniques and showing you how to get the best out of your stamps.

I will post more information about the class which will be held in Bristol UK, if you are interested in knowing more then please leave me a comment.

Lastly I am having a huge craft clear out and destashing lots of craft goodies. If you would like to take a look you can click on the link below

I will be back soon with some new cards after I finish reorganising my craft room.

Contemporary Rose flurries tutorial

Today I am going to be walking you through a card I put together a while ago using Altenew's Rose Flurries 3D Die Set and Watercolor Stripes Cover Die

I received so many wonderful comments and lots of people asked me how I create the card, so I thought I'd put together a little tutorial.

I will be using Artist Markers Set AArtist Markers Set B and Artist Markers Set C to colour my flowers. I will also add a sentiment using the Frosted Garden Stamp Set.

The Rose Flurries die set contains a lot of dies and can be a little overwhelming to start with, my tip here is to mark each die and the packaging so you know which die create each flower. This makes things easier if you only want to cut a certain flower.

I use stencil/low tack tape to adhere my dies to white card which I have backed with double sided adhesive.  I also lay the dies out in the order that they stack to create each flower, this saves me time and makes colouring easier.

I die cut the Watercolor stripes cover die from black card and adhere it to a white 4.25 x 5.5 inch card blank.

Using Altenew artist markers I colour all of the flowers and leaves while still in the cardstock, this makes it less fiddly.

Putting the flowers together is really quick if you have used the double sided adhesive sheet on your card stock.

Next I stamped my chosen sentiment from the Frosted Garden stamp set onto a small piece of white card.  All that is left to do is put the card together.

Thanks for popping by today, see you again soon.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #77

It's time for a new challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps
This time it's a picture inspiration challenge

You can use the picture any way you choose, the colours, the picture, just let your imagination carry you and be creative.

Here's my DT Inspiration

To create my project I started by inking a background with Distress Oxide inks. I then heat embossed my sentiment in black before adding some black and white inky splats.  I then used the 7mm checkerboard stencil to apply white ink, I outlined some of the inked areas with a black fine liner pen.

I then added a black sketchy border and mounted my project on to some black card.

To join in with the challenge pop over to the Paperbabe Stamps blog and link your project and you could be the winner of a fab prize from Kim aka Paperbabe.

I can't wait to see what you make.

Happy Birthday Shery

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Shery Happy birthday to you.

Yes today I am celebrating Shery's aka Mrs STAMPlorations birthday.

The STAMPgirls have got together and created birthday cards for Shery,

This is my card

To create my card I used the following products;

My candle swere colourde using a brayering technique. I added some Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Wild Honey to my glass matt and spritzing with water. I then rolled a large brayer through the ink and then across the surface of some thick white card. I did this a couple of times until I was happy with the coverage.

Once dry I stamped and fussy cut 5 of the candles from the Kathryns Big Wishes stamp set. I then adhered them to a card. I added a thin border using a black fine line pen and some inky splatters. I then die cut the word "Celebrate" from some gold glitter card and some black card and stuck them together creating a drop shadow. Lastly I stamped "it's your birthday" onto some white card. I then added this to the card.

If you'd like to see the other STAMPgirls cards you can find all the links here

If you fancy doing some shopping while on the blog I have a discount code for you to use on the STAMPlorations store which will entitle you to 20% off your order, this can not be used with other discount codes
