Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #51 - DT Inspiration

Today we have a new challenge for you on the Paperbabe Stamp Blog

This time it's a picture inspiration

As always there is a chance to bag yourself a prize from the lovely Kim Costello at Paperbabe

To join in the fun pop by the blog and link your project

I was inspired by the colours in the picture to create a rainbow coloured background using distress ink but then the quirkiness in me wanted to do something a little different so I used a polka dot stencil to add white ink and then distressed it by flicking water at the paper, giving a bleached effect.

I stamped and coloured a peony and leaves and sprayed the fibreboard word with black spray paint to finish off my card.

It's so colourfull and different and I love it.

The Products I used can be found on the Paperbabe Etsy store

I hope you'll join in with the challenge.

STAMPlorations Birthday Blog Hop

Hi STAMPlorations fans, it's day 3 of the birthday blog hop and wow, how amazing has the hop been so far?

I have 2 projects to share with you, first up is a cute birthday card made using the Gift-Builder-1 die set

I chose to go with teal and chocolate browns for this card, the gift builder is a fantastic die set, the dies cut so cleanly and the card releases straight away from the die.  I used the Happy Birthday Stamp Set for the sentiment.

My second project is a shaker card made with the shaker balloon - star die set.

I used the shaker balloon to create 3 shakers in the cards and filled the void with spaghetti beads, I also added a couple of non shaker balloon.  The sentiment is Bold-Sentiments-Charming

Now's the time to pop over to the STAMPlorations blog and take part in the giveaway.

Prizes:

  • Three (3) randomly drawn winners from all comments left on the STAMP blog and participating designers blog will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the store

Pretty in Pink - Altenew Garden Treasure.

Hey there, It feel like such a long time since I last posted a card that wasn't a DT project and yesterday I had a few hours with my daughter where we sat stamping and laughing together and it was wonderful.

I have had the Garden Treasure stamp set in my stash for a couple of months now and haven't got round to using it so decided that I should use it for this card.

I didn't have any particular occasion to create for some I went with a sentiment that could be used for many occasions.

I used Altenew Crisp Inks along with the Garden Treasure stamp set to create the card, My card is a 4.25"x 5.5" side opening card, I like cards that are hinged on the side like a cheque book as they are just a little different.  My sentiment was stamped onto black card and heat embossing in White.

It's a very striking card and although not my usual style I really like it.

I have a busy week of blog posts coming up to share with you from 4 different companies, one of which is a blog hop with prizes up for grabs so be sure to check back during the week for inspiration and crafty fun.

Wonderful in White Launch from Tattered Lace

Todays post is a rather exciting one, I am revealing my samples for Tattered Lace's World Launch Blockbuster which will be on Create and Craft TV tonight at 7pm

I had 3 of the new dies to work with, so why don't we take a look at what I made.

How adorable are these Robins, I love the way their little beaks are open as if they are singing a Christmas carol.

I decided to try a pastel and more frosty look for this card, Each Robin has a stocking matching the patch on it tummy.

This card has less of a traditional feel as I coloured the Robins black and red, they look a little folky.

All of the above cards used the Festive-robins die

Next up something very traditional

I used the holly and flora to create this lovely card, The tartan paper, Gold sentiment and glittered petals give a luxurious feel. I cut 4 sets of the flora and layered them into the corners to give more dimension to the card. I stitched the centres of the flowers with gold metallic thread to add a little extra sparkle.

I had a large Bauble chipboard in my stash which I covered with Tartan paper, I added a gold MDF sentiment and used the flora and holly dies to embellish.  This time I added stamens into the centre of the flowers and coloured the Holly berries gold.

I cut some foam board into a wreath shape using a craft knife and wrapped it in burlap to create my foundation which I then added flowers and holly to. All of the berries were coloured gold and I added buttons to the flower centres for a hand made look. Lastly I placed a brown satin ribbon at the top of the wreath to finish it off.

The 3 projects above all used the Flora-die and the Holly-dies.

I had so much fun making these projects even thought it's still June.

Mice and Lanterns - Tattered Lace DT Samples

Keeping with the Christmas theme I am here to share some samples from Tattered Lace's Pick of the Week launch, which will be on Create and Craft TV at 12pm on Friday

I love to make something a little different and Love a 3D or home decor project at Christmas time.

Look how cute the Mice are helping to trim the tree, the tree is around 12" tall and I love how the mice are holding on to the twine and Baubles with their tails.

This card is my favourite one and I had a real hard time letting it go off to Create and Craft as I wanted to keep it myself.

This card started as a tag and then developed into a fun card which I think would be good for the little ones in your life.

I love a bit of tartan at Christmas so decided to use the lanterns on a shaped topper with a tartan mat below, I really like the colours of this card. I layered the black lanterns onto some white card and coloured them to look as if they are illuminated.

Next up more tartan but this time with gold lanterns, an snowy acetate aperture and a poinsettia.

For this card I cut the lantern die twice and separated the snow flakes.  I wanted to make it look like the lanterns were hanging from the sky and the snow was falling around them.  I added a gold MDF word to finish the look.

I used the following dies from the new launch to make my cards
