Take one stamp set and see what you can do...........

This week I challenged myself to make as many Christmas cards as I could from one stamp set, Ok so maybe it was more than one set but it theory I used one image set and 2 sentiment sets.

I choose to use Altenews Poinsettia and Pine stamp set, along with the Lyrical Script sentiments and Holiday Wishes verses.  I also used the coordinating Poinsettia and Pine die set.

Black and gold embossing is so indulgent and elegant.

I love the organic feel of the white ink, Kraft card and twine.

I couldn't help going black and gold again.

A bit of gold embossing and simple red and gold line art.

This time I added some Washi tape and a few gems.

Black and Gold plus glittered vellum.

I die cut the Pine cones and leaves and embossed them in gold, I love the cute circle card.

For the this circle card I threaded bakers twine through the edge, I added a gold embossed sentiment and die cut the Poinsettia and leaves.

I used the fir sprig to create a wreath and added a sentiment in the middle.

As you can see the possibilities and style you can achieve with this set are endless. I have lots more ideas and will certainly be sharing some more ideas with you.

Paperbabe Stamps challenge #47 - Design team Inspiration

Good Morning Crafty friends

Today we are starting a new challenge over on the Paperbabe Blog

It's the much loved "Anything goes" theme.

As always there is a chance to bag yourself a crafty prize from the Talented Kim Costello at Paperbabe Stamps.

Time for my Design Team Inspiration,

I thought as Christmas is fast approaching I would dig out my Christmas stamps and create something super cute.  I decided a round card would be a little different and created a scene using the Bottle brush tree stamps, Reindeer Fusion and  Sparkle bright stamp sets. My card blank had a scalloped border with punched holes in it so I threaded a red organza ribbon through and tied a bow.  I used distress Ink's for my background and added a faux stitched border for added interest.

To join in and enter the challenge pop by the Paperbabe stamps Blog and use the link up tool to show us your creations.

Fill your head with dreams not worries

Today I am sharing a piece of wall art I've made using Visible Image stamps.

I was inspired to make this as my youngest daughter is a worrier and I often find myself telling her not to worry and that there are better things to spend your time on.

I love the Dream Cather Stamp in the No space for dreams set.  I also used the Ripped Fishnet from the Background Noise set.  I created the background on my Gellipalte and ued a stencil to add the  dot detail.

I added some details with a Spectrum sparkle pen, Sakura star dust pen, gold Posca pen and Glossy accents.

I think I will frame this and place it above my daughters bed as a little reminder not to worry.

Thank you

Today I wanted to say thank you to all the lovely people who stop by my blog, comment on my posts and give kind words of encouragement. I love to craft and share what I make and love hearing from you when you've given something new a go and want to share.

I made this card using Altenew's Vintage Rose die and stamp set for the flowers and leaves, the sentient is from two Altenew stamp sets; Floral Shadow and You are.

The background paper is from Trimcrafts Christmas Wishes and the dew drop detail is made using Tonics Jewel drops in Limoncello.

I hope you all have a super weekend Tx

Altenew Vintage Roses

Today I am sharing a card I created recently using Altenews Vintage Roses stamp and die set.

The Vintage rose stamp set was the first set I purchased from Altenew and as soon as I had them in my hand I instantly fell in Love. I knew that I then needed to have the matching dies to give me more options of how to incorporate them into my designs.

Over the weekend myself and my eldest daughter were sorting through some of my craft items and I said to her that I felt like stamping and she asked if she could join in.  She was surprised at just how relaxing and enjoyable stamping is.......she stamped and die cut the leaves for me.

I love the vintage look and wanted to add a little something around the flowers and leaves so opted for Jewel drops from Tonics Nuvo range, they are so easy to use and you get perfect results every time.

I have another card I made with the same stamps and die cuts to share later this week to show how just by changing the background of your card  you can achieve a totally different feel.

Make sure to check back later in the week, T x

Remembrance Sunday

As we remember the lives of all the service men and woman who lost their lives fighting to secure and protect our contries freedom, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and give thanks to those who gave selflessly.

The poppy is such an elegant flower and strong symbol of rememberance.

I created this simple card using the following items

I stamped the large snowflake onto white vellum using Versamark ink and embossed it in silver.

I also added an embossed sentiment and some gems.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I hope you will enter the challenge and I look forward to seeing your masterpiece.

Altenew Tulips

Hi there, today I am sharing a card I made using Altenews Tulip, painted inspiration and painted poppy stamp sets

I wanted to create an anniversary/wedding card that was a little different from what you find in the shops and knew the tulips and inspirational quote would be ideal.

Now, dont get me wrong this isnt a coffee break make, there was a fare bit of masking to do but it was so worth it to end up with a stunning card.

If you live in the UK or Europe then you can buy the stamp sets via www.craftstash.co.uk or sevenhillscrafts.co.uk

I'll be back on Thursday with another card.

I'm calling this my Spotlight die cutting tutorial

Now you probably have seen spotlight stamping previously but today I wanted to share with you something I'm calling spotlight die cutting......

Here's what the finished effect looks like

and here's how to create it;

Step 1

Using Altenew's rose-petal-ink-cubes,  sea-shore-ink-cubesfloral-shadow and vintage-flowers I stamped a piece of white card to make my background.

Step 2

I then used Altenew's happy-die to cut 4 sentiments from black lightweight card

Step 3

I now need to cut the happy from my background, I use some low tack tape to hold the die in place while cutting.

Here's what it looks like once cut

It's important to keep all the little pieces as we will be using those later

Step 4

I now layer all the happy die cuts together with the patterned one on top, I use Tattered lace detail glue with a metal fine tip applicator. This give us a faux chipboard effect.

Step 5

The next step is to adhere the background to a card blank, I used a wet glue for this so I can get into all the nooks and crannys.

Step 6

Now's time to pop the die cuts back into the background, including all the little pieces we saved.  I then used Altenew's halftone-happy stamp set to complete my sentiment.

Here's a card I made using the same technique, this time I used white happy die cuts to show how the look can be different depending on if you want the message more prominent or hidden.

I hope you've enjoyed today's tutorial.

Have a great weekend T x

Tattered Lace design team makes

It's been so busy these last few weeks and I forgot to share these makes with you.

I was sent Trio of birds die set and Trio of berries set.

Firstly I created a Christmas card using 2 of the birds and 2 of the berry branches. I used alcohol markers to add colour to the birds to make them look like robins and added a few red gems to the foliage.

Then I made a little card with a couple of little birds, I used on e of the berry sprigs to look like mistletoe. I used my bow maker from Embellishment attic to add a little organza bow.

As soon as I saw this bird particular bird die I wanted to make something a little bit different. I used distress inks to create the background.

Lastly I added a few birds to a wooden bird house and a berry sprig. How cute is it?

These dies are so versatile and I had so much fun using them.

Pop back tomorrow for more crafty creations.
