Paperbabe Stamps Challenge 27 - Anything goes

We have a new challenge over on the paperbabe stamps blog, the theme is "Anything goes".

If you'd like to enter and be in with a chance to win a prize then pop over to the blog here

Here is my creation for the challenge;

I created an Alcohol ink background for my card and used the Iris from the Female Face stamp set to create the center of the flowers, adding a stem and leaves using elements from the Folk fabrique stamp set. She then stamped the Art Quote stamp onto card and tore it into sections to add dimension and interest.

Fun with Alcohol.....inks

Hi crafty friends

I've been having a little play with Alcohol Inks recently, I started by creating some background papers, which in their own right looked fab but then I wanted to incorporate them into some cards and stand alone piece of art.

This first card was made using an inked background and then a stencil overlay, I added some twine and a sentiment to complete it.

This card is a bit different for me, I inked the stripes with alcohol ink, then used the inks through a flower stencil and finished the background with some over stamping in a brown archival ink.  A couple of bits of twine and a simple sentiment help to complete the look.

Now this one is a riot of colours.

This card brings together a sentiment stamp, a simple butterfly stamp and an inked background. I edged the main image with a line of black ink and mounted it onto white card.

This is one of my all time favorite alcohol ink backgrounds I've made, I added a flourish in the top corner and a art quote from paperbabe stamps. I then matted onto black card.

Alcohol inks are such a fun medium to work with, you can't guarantee what the end result will look like and for a control freak like me thats scary business but it's also fun waiting to see what happens.

I hope you like these projects, If you've had a play with Alcohol inks maybe you'd like to share some pictures with me, you can do so by visiting my facebook page Home is where the craft is

Until next take

If you'd like to enter and be in with a chance to win a prize then pop over to the blog here

Here's my DT make for the challenge. I created my Puppy Love card using the kawaii face stamp set, and the Adorimals digi collection to make my little puppy and the Designa tweed stamp set to create my patchwork heart, a little bit of matting and layering with co-ordingating colours card adds to the theme.

I hope you like it Tx
